The Pharmacy Management Playbook

Successful leaders are refined through contemporary education in the socio-administrative sciences. As with any changing discipline, a new approach to teaching and learning must be employed-one that embraces the skills of all health care team members and values entrepreneurial thinking and problem solving. This approach requires a new set of skills based on contemporary management principles, including followership, team building, tracking and assessing progress, storytelling and communication, financial analysis, and cultivating innovation, all of which promote transformational change. The authors of this book, by faculty members for faculty members, are responsible for creating and delivering content in the social and administrative sciences courses in pharmacy curricula. To date, there is no single textbook that covers all the essentials needed for pharmacists. As a result, a compilation of between three and ten textbooks is needed. There is a need for a universal and comprehensive textbook covering the social and administrative sciences topics for the pharmacy curriculum. This is that book.
